Centre for Medieval Studies, University of Bucharest

Centrul de Studii Medievale (CSM) a fost acreditat prin hotărîrea Biroului Senatului Universităţii din Bucureşti la 16 iulie 2006. Membrii săi sînt profesori, cercetători, doctoranzi și materanzi interesaţi in filologie, filosofie, istorie.

Centrul de Studii Medievale s-a dezvoltat dintr-un nucleu iniţial format din tineri masteranzi ai facultaţilor de Filosofie, Istorie şi Limbi şi Literaturi Străine reuniţi în anul 2002 în cadrul seminarului cu tema Gîndirea medievală condus de Prof. Dr. Ioan Pînzaru.
Dupa constituirea sa oficială, CSM a publicat mai multe volume colective şi a desfăşurat mai multe programe de cercetare interdisciplinară finalizate prin colocvii, congrese internaționale şi volume. Centrul găzduiește conferințe individuale susținute de mebrii săi sau de invitați de prestigiu.

Din anul universitar 2008-2009 a elaborat un program de studii masterale, asigurat în colaborare de Facultatea de Limbi şi Literaturi Străine şi Facultatea de Istorie.


Centre for Medieval Studies (CSM) was officially created on 16th of July 2006, by the Senate of the University of Bucharest. Its members include teaching staff, researchers and students interested in Philology, Philosophy, History.
It was formed from a group of MA students in Philology, Philosophy, History working together within the Seminary Medieval Thought through Texts, organized by professor Ioan Pînzaru.

Its activity consists in hosting invited lectures of its members and other academics, publication of collective volume and organizing national and international conferences.

From 2008-2009, CSM is involved in the MA program of Medieval Studies offered by the Faculty of History and the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Bucharest.
